We knew our first year growing veggies at Find Trails Farm wouldnāt be without its challengesāand Mother Nature made sure of it! This spring brought an abundance of rain, which slowed us down as we worked to prepare our growing beds. On top of that, we had to wait on the water company to install our service line. Once installed, we still had to get it trenched, run, and install hydrants so that we could have accessible water close to the garden. Itās been a processābut weāve kept at it, step by step.
Despite the delays and muddy boots, weāre finally seeing the fruits of our laborāliterally!
šæ We grow everything from organic seeds, and you can rest assured that we never use herbicides or pesticides. Just sunshine, soil, sweat, and a whole lot of care.
š„ Our first big harvest? Gherkin cucumbers. So many, in fact, that weāve filled jars and jars with picklesāand still had more than we could process. We turned to Facebook Marketplace and were thrilled to meet some fellow pickle-lovers who gave our extra cucumbers a happy home.
š Next up came the yellow squashābeautiful, tender, and absolutely delicious. A summer classic thatās graced many of our dinners (and hopefully yours, too!).
š Tomatoes and peppers are not far behind. The plants are thriving, and weāre looking forward to a bountiful late-summer harvest.
If you havenāt already, weād love for you to sign up here to receive updates via email or text. We’re still working out the best ways to communicate with you, and we appreciate your patience as we grow into a rhythm.
Weāre incredibly thankful for your support in this first year. It’s not always easy, but it is always worth it. We look forward to finishing the season strong and are already dreaming (and planning) for next year.
Thank you for cheering us on,
