Our First Year Growing Veggies at Find Trails Farm

We knew our first year growing veggies at Find Trails Farm wouldn’t be without its challenges—and Mother Nature made sure of it! This spring brought an abundance of rain, which slowed us down as we worked to prepare our growing beds. On top of that, we had to wait on the water company to install our service line. Once installed, we still had to get it trenched, run, and install hydrants so that we could have accessible water close to the garden. It’s been a process—but we’ve kept at it, step by step.

Despite the delays and muddy boots, we’re finally seeing the fruits of our labor—literally!

🌿 We grow everything from organic seeds, and you can rest assured that we never use herbicides or pesticides. Just sunshine, soil, sweat, and a whole lot of care.

🥒 Our first big harvest? Gherkin cucumbers. So many, in fact, that we’ve filled jars and jars with pickles—and still had more than we could process. We turned to Facebook Marketplace and were thrilled to meet some fellow pickle-lovers who gave our extra cucumbers a happy home.

💛 Next up came the yellow squash—beautiful, tender, and absolutely delicious. A summer classic that’s graced many of our dinners (and hopefully yours, too!).

🍅 Tomatoes and peppers are not far behind. The plants are thriving, and we’re looking forward to a bountiful late-summer harvest.
